Through Mazda's Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030 long-term mission, the automaker plans to offer some form of battery power in 100% of its vehicles—with at least 25% being fully electric. The 2022 model year marks a significant first step towards that goal, as Mazda prepares to release its first-ever EV, the all-new MX-30. Designed specifically for urban commuters, the MX-30 EV delivers Mazda's outstanding driving dynamics and nonpareil style in a city-friendly and emissions-free package.

The 2022 MX-30 EV is set to arrive in California dealerships this fall, with wider availability expected later in the launch cycle. Below we've compiled a quick overview of some of the highlights. If you'd like more information about the latest Mazda offerings, please feel free to reach out to North End Mazda or visit our Lunenburg dealership at your convenience. It will be our pleasure to assist you.

2022 Mazda MX-30 Highlights

  • Performance and Range: Intentionally crafted to serve urban drivers, the MX-30 EV finds its motivation in an 80.9-kW electric motor that produces 143 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque and provides an EPA-estimated range of 100 miles. New electric-focused G-Vectoring Control Plus delivers athletic handling while ensuring a smooth ride over imperfect roads.

  • Charging: The 35.5-kWh battery pack can be charged overnight (~13.5 hours) using a standard 120V household outlet or in ~3 hours with Level 2 (240V) equipment. And when out and about at a DC fast charge, the charge time is reduced to just 36 minutes.

  • MX-30 Elite Access Loaner Program: For longer trips or personal needs, MX-30 owners will have complimentary access to a courtesy non-EV Mazda for up to 10 days a year in the first three years.

  • Sustainability: Beyond its emissions-free operation, the MX-30 demonstrates a focus on environmental compatibility with high-quality materials made from cork, recycled threads, and other sustainable materials.

  • Safety: The MX-30 demonstrates Mazda's renowned commitment to safety with a full suite of i-ACTIVSENSE driver aids as standard equipment. All models come with features like collision mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and more.
