The Ghosts and Gravestones Tour is a classic Boston attraction that allows natives and tourists alike to explore the eeriest parts of Boston's long history. As one of the oldest cities in the U.S., Boston has its fair share of notorious murders, spooky happenings, and terrifying ghost stories. While the Ghosts and Gravestones Tour operates year round, Halloween is the perfect time to immerse yourself in Boston's haunted past.

Visitors will ride through town on the Trolley of Terror, a vintage-styled bus that carries them around some of the scariest historic sites in old Boston. During their moonlight ride, they'll be guided by a gruesome gaggle of actors dressed as the undead. These terrifying tour guides regale the trolley riders with some of the best ghost stories from Boston's history.

On the tour, visitors will take midnight walks through some of Boston's oldest grave sites, including King's Chapel Burying Ground, Copp's Hill Burying Ground, and the Granary Burying Ground. They'll also have the chance to explore Boston's most haunted hotel, the Omni Parker House, and view Boston Common, where criminals were executed long ago.

If you're interested in taking this fantastic tour, make sure to buy tickets and make a reservation ahead of time. The trolley fills up quick, so plan your visit as soon as possible. The first ride of the night starts at 6 p.m. each evening and lasts for approximately one hour and 30 minutes. If you're looking for some chills this holiday season, the Ghosts and Graveyards Tour is sure to fit the bill. Call 866-754-9136 for availability. The tour begins beside the Marriott Long Wharf Hotel at 200 Atlantic Ave., on the corner of State Street.

If you're interested, make sure to buy your tickets soon, as spots can fill up quickly. Please save your costumes and makeup for parties and trick-or-treating, as they aren't allowed in the park. Located in the eerie autumn forests at the Nashoba Valley Ski Area, Witch's Woods has a wide variety of spooky attractions to enjoy, including:

Haunted Hayride

The Haunted Hayride is a terrifying twist on a classic autumn activity.
